Cirque

Now the weekend is over, I have a full week of work ahead, and I suppose life must return to normal, more or less. The weekend ended with a fun event, though: Jed and I went to see Cirque du Soleil. Because the show involves people flying through the air, barely missing each other while catching onto and/or balancing on small moving objects, I decided to respect the no-flash-photography rule. It lacks drama, but here’s a picture taken after the show of the safety net:

Before the show, we started out with some very tasty Lebanese food in the West End. All in all, a good night.

Commenting on two posts at once--could that pub be any cozier? Please tell me there was a country spaniel just out of the frame. And I think that the safety net photo really does bring the drama of the CdC to life.

Leave it to the French to ruin the circus with a pansy safety net. "oh, we don't like these germans invading our country, may we may quickly capitulate?" "oh, we don't like falling to our deaths for your pleasure sir, may we have a safety net?" So it goes. The Flakey Golden Croissant.
